Philenda A. Nelson

February 2, 1917 — January 8, 2011

Philenda A. "Auntie" Nelson; age 93; of Rochester Hills; passed away January 8, 2011. She was born in Lake Orion to James and Lota A. Hendrick. Philenda was the loving wife of 65 years to the late Carl Ragnar Nelson; sister of the late Beatrice B. (Clare) Berger; and dearest Auntie of Tom and Penny Berger, Mary Jane and Jerry Bates, and Susan and Tom Arthur. She is also dearly missed by several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Orion Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment Square Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lake Orion United Methodist Church.
