Dr. Raphael A. Flajole DDS; born on November 7, 1951 and died on June 8, 2014. Ray was killed tragically by a reckless driver in Galveston, TX early Sunday morning while he was enjoying a sunrise walk on the beach with his family. Ray was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dedicated friend. He was a good man. Ray was a dentist in Lake Orion for over 37 years where he gently and compassionately cared for his patients. He took great pride in providing honest and excellent dental care to make sure that everyone had "nice choppers". Ray had many passions and hobbies in life. Golfing brought him much happiness (and sometimes angst). He recently started running, and as everything he attempted, he mastered it. He had planned on eventually doing a triathlon. He enjoyed craft beer with buddies. He loved to ski, the water, and was a champion sailboat racer. He told good stories, loved sharing trivia and corny jokes. He loved life. Ray is survived by his wife Carol; daughters and son-in-laws, Rachel and Jeff Ridley, Emily Flajole, Julia and Phil Thomas and Molly Flajole; grandchildren Liam and Evan Ridley and Aiden and Abigail Thomas; brothers, Fr. John Paul Flajole OFM, Pierre Flajole; sister, Mary Flajole; and sister-in-law, Jewell Flajole. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loving friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Delphine and Paul Flajole; and his brother, Michael Flajole. Ray was loved by many and will be very greatly missed. He made the world a better place. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 12th from 5 to 8pm and Friday, June 13th from 2 to 8 pm with prayers of the Rosary at 7pm at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Church on Saturday, June 14th at 11:00am (visitation 10am) with a luncheon immediately following at the church.
