Raul Rodriguez

April 4, 1953 — March 16, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raul “Rudy” Rodriguez; age 69; of Pontiac, MI; a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on the evening of Thursday, March 16, 2023. Rudy is the beloved husband to Maria of 45 years; loving father to Melanie Stodgel, Rosa Rodriguez, and Ricardo (Adriana) Rodriguez; grandfather to Dalton and Austin Stodgel; brother to Benjamin (Janet) Rodriguez, Yolanda Buck, Irene Messenger and Ilda (Rickey) Buchanan; and loving uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Rodriguez Sr; mother, Juanita Salazar; and brothers, Rojelio Rodriguez and Daniel Rodriguez Jr.

Rudy was born in Pontiac, MI in 1953, youngest of the brothers in his family. Rudy began working with his father at a young age in the cement/construction business. He spent some time in the Army working in the supply unit. Upon returning home, he picked up where he left off and continued working in the cement/construction business where he joined the union as a journeyman as part of the cement mason local 514 and helped build metro Detroit.

Rudy was a man who could put a smile on anyone’s face with a joke or merely his presence. He was kind hearted, and always willing to help whenever someone needed it and was always the first on the job. He was easy going and was never one to complain. His light will go on in our hearts, he will be greatly missed.
