Richard R. "Pete" Sparks Sr.

Richard Raymond Sparks Sr. "Pete"; of Flint; age 79; passed away on September 23, 2022.  Richard is the father of Kelly (Michael) Catalano and Richard Raymond Sparks Jr.; loving grandfather of Joseph, Michael, Jacob, Aaron and Sam; dear brother of Leonard and Harry Sparks; and special  uncle of many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda, his parents Joseph and Kristine Sparks, and by his siblings Joseph, Thomas, Robert, Dora Ellen, Grace Ann, Virginia, Carolyn, Mary and June.  Richard's parents had 12 children and he was number 11.  Whenever the family got together he was always there and if they needed anything he would always help.  He worked hard and after many years retired from General Motors.  In his spare time he enjoyed books, movies and watching Nascar.  He will be missed by his family and friends.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 2pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  The family will receive friends from 11am until the time of service.  Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
