Robert Franklin Jenkins

Robert Franklin Jenkins; of Lake Orion; age 98; passed away on March 25, 2022.  Robert is the loving father of James (Toni) Jenkins, Roger (Pat) Jenkins, Penny Jenkins Kershaw and Perry (Stephanie) Jenkins; and the dear grandfather of 9 grandchildren.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Marjorie L. Jenkins, Louann Bernthal Jenkins, Alice Sanders, his brother Harry Jenkins Jr. and his grandson Jonathon Jenkins.  He was born in Illinois and moved to Michigan in 1951 to work at General Motors where he retired after 32 years.  He was a Staff Sergeant of the Army Air Force from 1943-1946 during World War 2 and was a proud Veteran.  In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and built over one hundred rocking chairs.  His other hobbies included furniture restoration, bowling and golf.  Robert was a long time member of a local Baptist church and attended all throughout his life.  Most of all he was happiest spending time with his children and grandchildren.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11am at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Square Lake Cemetery, Lake Orion.
