Vernann Hollenbeck and Robert Hollenbeck of Lake Orion
The generous soul of Vernann Bernice (Baker) Hollenbeck, born July 18, 1937, passed on to new life with Jesus on October 4, 2020 in Oxford, MI. She was the daughter of Stanley and Bernice Baker of Newberry, MI who preceded her in death; as did her first husband, Dale McWilliams. Vernann worked at British Airways and Channel 56. She was an active member of Lake Orion United Methodist Church for many years. She was the loving mother of Shawn McWilliams and Megan (McWilliams) Burny. In 1978 she married Robert Henry Hollenbeck, moved to Lake Orion, and warmly welcomed his children Adrienne (Hollenbeck) Royce and Nathaniel Conrad Hollenbeck into her family. Vernann’s greatest pleasures were travelling, gardening, and her grandchildren- Taylor, Robert, Claire, Camille, and Andrew.
Robert Henry Hollenbeck, born August 15, 1938, died in Oxford, MI on June 26, 2021. He was the son of Everett and Mildred (Dempster) Hollenbeck of Johnstown, NY. Robert served in the US Air Force as a Jet Engine Repairman from 1957-1961. Robert worked as a vocational arts teacher for the Bloomfield Hills school district for nearly three decades, and served the Lake Orion community as a member of the Village Council, Downtown Development Authority, United Methodist church, and American Legion. Robert found his greatest satisfaction in having a tool in his hand whether he was fixing up the house, the yard or a motor.
