Roger Harvey Allison

Roger Harvey Allison, 72, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 24, 2026. He was born May 3, 1954, at Selfridge Air Force Base.

Roger graduated from Lake Orion High School, Class of 1972, in the top of his class. Following graduation, he continued his education and played football at the Air Force Academy before moving on to Michigan Tech, where he led the team in rushing before moving to outside linebacker.

Roger worked in manufacturing and sales in the pharmaceutical industry, including positions with Parke-Davis and Baxter BioScience.

Roger was active in the community, serving as a football, basketball, and baseball coach at the youth and middle school levels. Roger left a lasting mark on hundreds of kids throughout Lake Orion and the surrounding communities, sharing lessons in both sports and life that will carry on for generations to come.

He loved the outdoors and nature, whether in the woods or on the water. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan, the Saint Clair River, and many other lakes and rivers. This included Lake Orion, where he raised his family and enjoyed countless hours with his sons, Roger and Ryan, and his grandsons, Jack and Ben.

Roger was a talented athlete and one of the best athletes to ever come through Lake Orion. He earned All-State and All-Area honors and was a three-year letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Marion Allison, and his brother, Paul Allison.

Roger is survived by his wife, Laurie. Among his greatest gifts were his sons, Roger and Ryan, Ryan’s wife, Kari, and his two amazing grandsons, Jack and Ben. Roger loved them dearly and would proudly tell that to anyone who would listen.

He is also survived by his brothers, Steve Allison (Roberta), Mike Allison (Nicole), and Harvey Eric Allison (Trish), and his sister, Debbie Choike (Dan).

No services will be held, per Roger’s request. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
