Russell "Al" Allen Cox

Russell Allen “Al” Cox was born to Russell and Alice Mary Cox on October 6, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan.  Al graduated from St. Joseph High School.  He went on to Hillsdale College, playing football and graduating in 1963.  He taught physical education and coached for 30 years in the Detroit Public Schools.  An avid outdoorsman, Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating with family and friends on Pentwater Lake, Lake Michigan and in the Florida Keys.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edward Cox and Thomas Cox.  Al is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cox, daughter Amy (Bob) Poage, son Andrew (Wendy) Cox, his sister, Shirley Simpson, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  The family will hold a private family service.
