Santos Garay

Garay, Santos; was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on January 14, 1947 to Juan Garay and Emilia Cruz. He had 11 siblings, three brothers and eight sisters, Angel Garay, Longina Garay (deceased), Francisca Garay (deceased), Carmen Garay, Camelo Garay, Magdelon Garay, Heriberto Garay, Virginia Figueroa, Ann Figueroa (deceased), Ramona Figueroa (deceased) and Marici Estele Cruz. Santos lived a life full of joy and happiness next to Dr. Barbara Raby and his daughter Emily Collier. Santos loved animals, but particularly horses and dogs. His latest companion, Amigo; a Daisy dog misses his presence at home greatly. His prowess as a gardener was legendary even if he had to turn the living room, with its eastern exposure into a nursery for seedling. It was said of Santos that he could bury a dead stick and it would grow. He was a great cook and worked as the chef for the mushroom farms for many years. Santos treasured his friends and adored his only child, Emily, but loved Barbara's children and grandchildren and considered them his own. After a long journey of 66 years, on March 16, 2013, his Lord said unto him; "Well done (thou) good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord." - Matthew 25:21. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Church, St. Joseph Parish, 400 S. Blvd Pontiac.
