Sharon J. Mccormick

Sharon Jean McCormick, a lifelong resident of Ortonville, Michigan, passed away on April 5th 2020 at the age of 65.

Sharon is survived by her mother; Mary Stec, her brother; Richard Stec, her loving spouse of 45 years; Peter McCormick, her four children; Stephen McCormick (Laurie), Gordon McCormick (Traci), Shelly Oles (Jason), and Jennifer McCormick, and her eight grand-children; Austin Oles, Elivia Hearns, Hailee McCormick, Nathan Oles, Erica McCormick, Isabelle Hearns, Danielle Hearns and Calvin Oles. She is preceded in death by her father Eugene Stec, and her brother Allen Stec.

Sharon was born on October 12th 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Ann and Eugene John Stec. She grew up in Roseville, Michigan then moved with her parents to Lake Orion, Michigan where she met the love of her life, Peter McCormick, at a church fair. She and Peter were married on October 19, 1974 and they settled in Ortonville, Michigan.

Sharon graduated with her nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse for 26 years at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. She was an excellent nurse and well respected in her field. Sharon raised her four children with love and respect and ran a home where the door was always open. She welcomed everyone into her home with love and kindness.

Sharon was a joy to all who knew her. She enjoyed sitting at her spot at the counter in her kitchen drinking a Coke and in her younger years, smoking a cigarette while talking on the phone to anyone who would answer. She enjoyed boating with her family, taking rides in their doing buggy, taking family vacations, sitting outside in view of the lake they lived on, or sitting by her pool. In her later years, she loved going to the casino with Pete and won more than she lost. At least that’s what she told Pete. Sharon was a spiritual woman and devout follower of the Catholic faith. She was a devoted member of St Joseph Catholic church in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Due to unforeseen government shut down, a very intimate funeral service will be done at Sparks-Griffin funeral home for immediate family only on Thursday April 9th 2020. A separate memorial celebration will be done in the near future for friends and family to gather together in remembrance. Sharon will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Cemetery where her father and brother were both buried.
