Shirley A. O'Dean

O'Dean, Shirley A.; of Lake Orion; age 76; April 18, 2013; beloved wife of Gerald for 57 years, loving mother of Jeffrey (Peggy) O'Dean and Geraldine Ann (Edward) Pollock; dearest grandmother of Kelly, Colin, Eddie, and Megan; dear sister of Linda (Frank) Shaughnessy. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Gertrude VerStrate, sister, Phyllis and brother, George. She was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked as an executive secretary at the former Fleet Sales Division of Pontiac Motors. Shirley enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing and being with her family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 12 noon at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute of Detroit.
