Shirley Ryckman

June 1, 1923 — November 11, 2009

Ryckman, Shirley; of Lake Orion; age 86; passed away November 11, 2009. Shirley is the beloved husband of Lucia for 46 years; loving father of Gerald (Vicki) Ryckman of Arizona, Melvin (Mary Ann) Ryckman of Attica, Regina Peters of Marlette and Penny. Step-father of Donald McNutt of Lake Orion. Shirley is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Norma) Ryckman of Mio, Henry (Lois) Ryckman, Donald (Joann) Ryckman, Cecil (Marge) Ryckman and Donna Hull, all of Lewiston; and his sister in law Mary Horak. He was preceded in death by his sister Martha Brockman. Shirley managed the Body Shop for Al Hanoute Chevrolet in Lake Orion and Huntington Ford in Rochester Hills, and later worked as a consultant for many auto dealerships in the area. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oxford Free Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Lake Orion Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home with suggested visiting hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
