Sonja N. Ewald

Sonja Noel Ewald; of Oxford; age 80; January 7, 2019. Sonja is the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Audrey Buechler; loving mother of Charles Ewald Jr. and Martha Ewald; and loving Nanny of Kristen Ewald and Caitlin Ewald. She is also the loving sister of Carla (Darryl) Lamberston. Sonja was the first born child in Oakland County on January 1, 1939, and she was so proud to have been named after the Norweigan Olympic Figure Skater, Sonja Henie. Sonja was a devout Christian, lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Oxford, and president of the Martha Circle for many years. She was very social, had many friends and was very involved in her high school reunions. She also enjoyed garage sales, bird watching and traveling to Aruba with her daughter, Martha. Spending time with her family was most important to Sonja and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1-3 and 5-8pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11am with visitation from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Davison.
