RENSLEAR, STEPHANIE; age 91; of Lake Orion, MI; passed away peacefully on July 6, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother Agnes; father Stephen; step-father Samuel; and siblings, Frank, Agnes, Anna Mae, and Marie Antoinette "Manny"; she is survived by her children, Rebecca (Rick), Gail Betty, Stephanie "Shaumee", Lee (Linda), Norah Adele, Joyce (Dennis), Linda (Joe); step-daughters, Sue (Chuck) and Fay; 16 grandchildren, Terry Lynn (Mark), Michael John, Matthew, Julie (Bob), Mary Catherine (Fred), Kimberly (Jim), Elizabeth, Jason, Katie, Amber (Ryan), Audrey, Andy, Patrick, Autumn, Joey, and Vincenzo; and 13 great grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Haley, Makayla, Zachary, Robert, Jacob, Lindsay, Jordan, Freddie, Samantha, Georgia, and Oscar. Stephanie was born in Waukegan, IL on February 18, 1919 and later moved to Michigan where she spent most of her adult life and raised her family. Stephanie always put her loved ones first, and worked unselfishly to support them in their pursuit of happiness. She was an independent and hard working woman who had several careers throughout her life. She retired after many years of working as a nurse in the public and private sectors, where she was loved and respected by a countless number of patients and their families. Stephanie is greatly loved and will be tremendously missed by her family, who will always remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, provider, caretaker, and friend. The following poem by Rabindranath Tagore is representative of how Stephanie lived her life: "I slept and dreamt that life was joy, / I woke and saw that life was duty. / I acted and behold, duty was joy". In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lake Orion Public Library in Stephanie's honor.
