Stephen ‘Steve’ L. Vaillancourt, 56, of Lake Orion, MI, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Steve was a loving and compassionate man who could bring a smile and a laugh to every room he entered. He taught us all how to enjoy life and how to fight when the going gets tough.

Steve was born on August 31, 1962 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Loving husband of Susan Vaillancourt; loving father and step-father to Nick and Marie Vaillancourt, Eric and Sarah Woodruff and Matthew (Liz) Wolber. He is also survived by his sisters Teri (Chuck) Damman, Donna (Duane) Elkins and Andrea (Chris) Passmore, several nieces and nephews, his life-long best friend Jerry Howcroft and countless friends. Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Vaillancourt and his parents S. Marie and Lorne Vaillancourt.

Steve graduated from Berkley High School in 1982. Steve worked for the City of Troy Police Department for over 20 years and served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the City of Troy for many years.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2-7pm with Scripture Reading at 6pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. The family will also receive friends on Monday at the church from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital
