Susan K. Goeckel

Susan Kaye Goeckel (nee Woodbeck); of Oxford; passed away May 5, 2017 after a short illness. Sue was born January 6, 1950 in Pontiac to the late William and Isabel (Bea) Woodbeck. She grew up in the Lake Orion area, living there throughout her life and graduating in 1968 from Lake Orion High School. Sue leaves behind her children, Matthew (Karen) Goeckel of South Carolina and Shonda (Jack) Libby-Hills of Florida; her grandchildren, Zachary, Ariel, Tamara and Samantha; 8 great grandchildren all of South Carolina; her siblings, Nancy (Bob) Centers, Beverly (Raymond) Dalby, Patrick (Mundy) Woodbeck, Rose (John) Rabine of Florida, Ken Woodbeck and Mona (Tony) Larson; and several nephews; nieces; and cousins. She also leaves behind her special niece, Connie Bays; and special cousin Brenda Hauxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Robert Wilson; brother Jimmy; and sister Sharon. Sue loved her children, grands and greats very much. She enjoyed crocheting, crosswords and word search puzzles, but most of all she loved to laugh and have fun. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 7pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-8pm. www.sparksgriffin.com
