Suzann Johnson (Sue), of Lake Orion, Michigan, age 75, passed away on the evening of May 15, 2026.
Sue was born on April 30, 1951, in Ubly, Michigan, to Donna and Raymond Osentoski. She was the oldest of six children and grew up alongside her five brothers: Bill Osentoski, Carl Osentoski, Dale Osentoski, Dean Osentoski, and Lee Osentoski.
She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in teaching and later earned her master’s degree from Oakland University. She devoted 35 years of her life to teaching, spending much of her career at Clear Lake Elementary, where she made a lasting impact on generations of students, families, and colleagues.
Sue married Philip Johnson on June 29, 1974, and together they made their home in Lake Orion, Michigan, where they raised their two sons, Philip and William. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip; her dear longtime companion, Roger; and her brother, Bill Osentoski (Lynn).
Sue was a devoted mother, grandmother, educator, friend, and active member of her community. She stayed deeply involved through many social groups and friendships, always finding ways to connect with others, support those around her, and remain engaged in the community she loved. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Evan and Stella, whom she loved deeply.
She had a generous heart and made the most of her life by giving back to her family, her friends, and her community. Through her years of teaching, her community involvement, and the quiet ways she showed up for others, Sue made people feel cared for, supported, and loved. Her warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Sue is lovingly survived by her sons, Philip Johnson (Sara) and William Johnson (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Stella Johnson and Evan Johnson; her brothers, Carl Osentoski (Debbie), Dale Osentoski (Jeanne), Dean Osentoski (Bev), and Lee Osentoski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion with a 6:00 p.m. Scripture Service.
