Coleman, Theda J.; age 91; passed away February 28, 2008. Theda is the wife of the late Max Coleman; and daughter of the late Glenn and Ada Watson. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Ken) Meyer of Lake Orion, with whom she made her home. Theda is also survived by grandson Ken (Erin) Meyer Jr. of Novi; granddaughter Andrea (Jason) Thomas of Austin, Texas; plus great grandchildren Megan, Matthew, Mark and Max Meyer, and Alayna, Priya and Josiah Thomas. Theda is also survived by special cousins Pat and Bob Allan of Waterford, MI. The Coleman's were lifetime residents of Oakland County, except their retirement years were spent in Punta Gorda, Florida. They lived for 26 years at Elizabeth Lake where family and friends enjoyed their lakefront home. Theda was active in Waterford school activities: PTAs at various schools, Girl Scouts, Waterford Youth Assistance Committee, and the 1935 Pontiac High School class, helping plan their five year reunions. She and Max were members of the Cotillion Dance Club and a five couple social group that met in each others homes both in Michigan and Florida for over 50 years. They were also active in NARFE, a Federal employee's retirement organization. Theda started the Rochester, Michigan chapter #2179 in the 1980s. She was last employed as a legal secretary for 12 years until retirement. Her interests were traveling, playing bridge, reading and vacationing in northern Michigan at the Watson cabin in Red Oak. She was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Lake Orion. Arrangements are being handled by the Lake Orion Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 29, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service with Pastor James VanDellen officiating will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Ottawa Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church or the Michigan Heart Association would be appreciated. Reflections may be shared at www.sparksgriffin.com.
