Thomas Lacey

Thomas Edward Lacey; of Lake Orion; passed away on September 23, 2023; he was 77 years old. Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette; his children, Tamra (Thilo) Frisch, Brian (Stacy) and Susan (Justin) Dawson; and the proud grandfather of Brett Yeager, Wyatt, Maggie, Emily, and Grace Dawson.  He is also survived by his brothers, Richard and Jerry Lacey. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy Lacey; sister Carole; and brothers Kenneth and Marvin.

He grew up in Hazel Park and graduated from Hazel Park High School.  It was during high school that Tom built his first dragster and began racing. Although he gave up racing to focus on family, he continued to enjoy and follow the sport throughout his lifetime. A gifted mechanic, he worked for many years on heavy machinery.  In the mid 80’s he transitioned into the cement business and owned and operated Lapeer Concrete and Supply until his retirement.

Visitation will be at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 3 -7pm and the funeral service will be on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:30 am.
