Tina Hickman

Betina Kay Hickman, 52, of Lake Orion, MI, passed on to be with her loved ones in Heaven on January 28, 2021.  Daughter of Dorothy (Harvey) Hickman and the late Kenneth B. Hickman, Sr.  Tina is survived by one brother, Ken Hickman, Jr. and his fiancé, Kim Varga; maternal grandparents are Beulah and Raymond Harvey (deceased) of Wyatt, WV; and paternal grandparents are Ruth and Ira Hickman (deceased) of Wyatt, WV.   Tina also leaves behind several aunts, one uncle, cousins and many, many friends from several different states.  Tina was a 1987 graduate of L.O.H.S.  She started O.C.C in the fall of '87 but later decided to start her adventure in life and moved to St. Paul, MN for a couple years.  Upon returning she began working at Leidich as a manager and later as a night manager at Rochester Telemessaging Service for 12 years.  Tina dearly loved all animals.  The last one to capture her heart was a stray cat, "Rocky".   She will be loved and missed by so many.  She was a kind hearted, loving and a very loyal friend to all who knew her.  She was a child of God, most importantly.  She loved the arts, books, movies, museums, photography, the Beatles and road trips (especially her last trip to Baton Rouge, LA).  She also loved to cook, bake and watch the bake off shows. Her humor and wittiness will long be remembered.  She had a way of touching your heart.  An open service for anyone who wishes to attend will be held at her interment on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery on Orion Road, Lake Orion.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to any animal shelter would be appreciated.  A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer.
