Walter Carl Hickman

November 2, 1927 — August 31, 2007

HICKMAN, WALTER CARL. Age 79 of Oakland. Passed away at home August 31, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Madeline of 58 years. Children: Jeffrey (Donna), Gregory (Shelly), Carla Eagle, Lori (Jerry) Martin, Jeanette (Dave) West, Melissa (Michael) Miscovich and the late Lynette Marcum. Step-son John (Pat) Bauch and Bobby Johnson who was like a son. 20 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. He served his country in the Merchant Marines from 1944-46 and in the Marine Corps from 1946-48. He retired from Plant Security from Pontiac Motors in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108 in Oxford. Funeral service Wednesday 11 am from the Lake Orion Chapel of the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Tuesday, after 3pm with suggested visiting hours of 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Interment Wednesday afternoon at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Pastor John Keiser, St Paul's Lutheran Church, Lapeer officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cranbrook Hospice.A memorial reflection can be sent to: www.sparksgriffin.com
