Walter Hyry

Walter Hyry; of Lake Orion; September 18, 2016; age 92. Walter was the beloved father of Katherine (Bill) Carlsen and Don (Kathy) Hyry; step-father of Timothy Gates; grandfather of Kimberly, Brian, Nicole, Dan and Jason; great grandfather of Kayla, Anna, Jace, Allison and Hunter. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary; second wife, Virginia; and brother Alden. Walter was a ski jumper, a proud WWII Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. He retired from Ford after many years and was a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker.  Walter was also a longtime member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11am at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion .
