William "Ben" Bennett Darnell

William Bennett Darnell (Ben) December 25, 1944- August 23, 2026

Willaim Bennett Darnell of Lake Orion passed away on August 23, 2026. He was born December 25, 1949 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Fred and Lona Darnell. Ben lived from the ages of 8 to 16 in Alabama and while there he met his loving wife Charlotte. They have since been married for 59 years. In addition to Charlotte, Ben is survived by his children, Michelle (Greg), Lori and the late Cary, Jennifer (Ken); his grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Rayna, Ryder; and great grandchild Wayne. He coached Class A Baseball for 8+ years and started the Lake Orion Little Football Program over 30 years ago, not only coaching but also running the organization. Ben loved car racing and taking drives with his wife. He will be extremely missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Marimont Baptist Church in Pontiac at 11:00am. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the time of service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
