ROGERS, WILLIAM C. (BILL); age 90; of Clarkston, formerly of Rochester Hills and Pontiac; peacefully passed away November 6, 2010. Bill was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 17, 1920, the youngest son of the late Stanley and Edith Rogers. He will be deeply missed by his family and to all who knew him. His family includes his; children, David (Ann) Rogers of Waterford and Debby (Mike) Desnoyers of Auburn Hills; his only grandchild, Heidi (Ryan) Anderson,and his three great granddaughters Chloe, Emma and Ashlynn Anderson, who call him great papa. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edmund and Charles. A graduate of Pontiac High School, class of 1938, he was also an alumni of Ferris State University and Michigan State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life time member of the Elks Lodge No. 810. Bill was a teacher for many years in the Pontiac School System retiring in 1982, finishing his career at Pontiac Central High School on Huron Street just around the corner from where he was born on Washington Street. He was a long time member of All Saint's Episcopal Church in Pontiac and attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Port Salerno, Florida. And also attended Christ Lutheran Church in Waterford. Bill's greatest blessings to all who knew and loved him were his love and commitment to his family and his wonderful sense of humor, which he maintained right up until his death. Funeral Service Tuesday 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church (Waterford) Family will receive friends Monday 3 to 7 p.m. at Pontiac Chapel of Sparks Griffin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Barbara and William will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI
