Cheryl Ann Cox

Cheryl (McGinty) Cox, formerly of Conroe, Texas and Brown City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at McLaren Lake Orion Nursing Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and lifelong curiosity.

Cheryl will be remembered for her zest for living, her enduring love of learning, and her unwavering faith. She carried a quiet strength and a generous spirit, always willing to stop and pray—anytime, anyplace—for anyone in need. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of comfort to those around her. She loved beaches, playing Jimmy buffet music and sitting outside drinking ice tea, and absolutely loved hot black coffee in the morning

Above all, Cheryl was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked to instill in her children and grandchildren the belief that they could achieve their dreams. She gave them the invaluable gifts of curiosity and a lifelong love of learning—lessons that will continue to guide them for years to come.

Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Charla (Derek) Arnold and Angela (Shane) Gibson; her seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson, all of whom were an important part of her life; her sister Brenda (James) Griffin, and her two nieces. She was predeceased by her father James, her mother Grace and brother Jimbo.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in the memories she created and the love she so freely shared. Cheryl’s memory will remain forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

As beautifully expressed in the words of Lev Grossman:

“Now even though things will never be the same, even though they would never be together in the same way, at least he could always remember it the way he wanted to. The memories were safe, sealed away forever in amber.”

Cremation services have been entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. A private family memorial service is being planned for a later date.
